What is even better is that we get to smile the entire time we are taking photos of you smiling on your wedding day. We think that is pretty amazing.

Candid Confessions Lead to Great Photos

Communicating with a bride and groom prior to taking their professional photos is important. First you'll obviously want to get to know them on a professional level and discover what they love, how they want their photos to be, their desired backdrop and lighting, etc. Depending on the couple you are speaking with, they might want to get to know you on a personal level. If you do strike up candid conversations you will get a glimpse into their personalities.
 Personalities Reveal Interests

A personality says a lot about a person whom you will be photographing. If a bride is sugary sweet she might want a cupcake in her hand or perhaps be surrounded by pink flowers. If a bride is more edgy she may want her photos near a wall of art or her favorite rock restaurant. Whatever the personalities of the couple may be, begin formulating a plan in your head.

Candid Conversations Reveal Photography Desires

As a plan is formulated, before the day has arrived for the official photographs, you may find yourself having a candid conversation with the bride. She may tell you that she's always dreamed of getting married in a castle, but she's just as satisfied with her current setting. Now you can possibly find a castle back drop that will help her dreams come true and bring a smile to her face.Or their may be a structure similar to a castle with the elements present.
Learn About a Couple's Love Story

As you peal away the layers of the bride and groom, you'll perhaps learn about their love story and what makes them tick. When you arrive to the site that you have recommended to them and that they adore for their official photos, you'll be able to capture their love in a wonderful way. They can keep their memories and be thankful that they encountered a photographer that has learned to get to the heart of the matter and capture their personalities and love for one another in a beautiful way.

5 tips for choosing a GREAT wedding photographer!

1. Wedding photographer schedules fill up fast, so book early
Once you’ve settled on a wedding date, waste no time in searching for your photographer. The best ones are booked heavily in advance, so make photographer shopping one of your first priorities.

2. Personality matters
A good, professional photographer is patient, friendly, and organized. He should not yell at guests who don’t pose quickly enough or who get in his way.

3. Review portfolios
When looking at a photographer’s portfolio, concentrate on the photos, not fancy web design or photo presentation. When you’ve narrowed your list to one or two photographers, ask each of them to show you complete coverage of a single wedding. This will give you a much better idea as to what you can expect than a collection of the best shots from several different weddings. Most photographers will show you 2 or 3 of their best albums. Ask to see something recent, waiting to be picked up.

4. Take bride, groom and anyone else who will be paying to the appointments
Very important so no one gets upset later on.

5. Have a contract
Do not give a deposit without a written contract. In 10 months, do you think the photographer will remember what he promised you? Make sure the contract says everything that you expect the photographer to deliver, from the amount of pictures, items included in the plan, and how many hours the photographer will be at your wedding for. It should also name the photographer who will be shooting your wedding. If you interviewed the owner and you want the owner, then the owner better be listed. Overtime charges should be listed, as well as location, date, time, and size of the wedding party. Make sure all costs are clearly defined, and your deposit and balance amounts.
